Educational Lessons.

Tomorrow morning I will be registering for my last semester!I am eagerly anticipating graduation in May.However, as I said earlier this week on twitter- the days are long but the years are short.Although I’m only 21, with a lot of life ahead of me (hopefully) I can already feel how true that quote is.It feels like I just graduated from High School.I still remember moving into the dorms and my first day of classes at college. How nerve racking yet exciting everything was.
Slowly over the years making new friends that I now call family.Growing and learning with each experience.Laughter, tears, love, broken hearts, happiness, sadness; everything.
These past three and a half years have truly been the best.
As the days, weeks, and months continue to fly by and before knowing it
I’m out in the real world, I hope to always remember the most important lessons
I’ve learned in college- the one’s learned outside of the classroom.
Big lessons like what it’s like to love and care about someone else
more than yourself to how to be a true best friend.
To simple lessons like how to learn to be (somewhat) i
ndependent from your parents
and how to live in a house with other people, which let’s face it,
isn’t always the easiest thing to do.
To even silly lessons like learning how to handle your alcohol so you aren’t “that girl” at the party, or learning not to put the plastic bowl in the microwave.
There are different types of education, bookwork and life lessons.Although you obviously need the University funded educationI personally believe it’s the real life lessons we learn from our friends, peers, family, professors, and strangers that really make us into who we are. With the 6.5 months left in school I’m really focusing on taking in every single moment, day, and week. I’m excited to see what lessons await me.
