Today is my best friend's, Carly Jo, birthday.
22 years old!
Wow! I cannot believe that.
It seems like just yesterday we were sixteen years old
running around Mankato and Carly had to drive my car
because I wasn't allowed to drive in "town" yet.
This is the first year since middle school
that I'm not able to be with her on her birthday.
Which makes me incredibly sad.
We're growing up and live far apart now.
One thing I'm certain that will never change
is the love we have for each other.
Every time we meet again we pick up right as we left off,
as if it had only been a few hours since we were last together.
No matter where we travel in our lives
I will also look to Carly as one of the people who supports me
and encourages me no matter what,
and I hope she will always say the same.
