chicago; take one.

My first weekend as a legal drinker and I spent it in one of my favorite cities in America- Chicago! The roomies and I packed the car and headed to the 'burbs of chitown for our friends Megan & Calen's wedding. The services were held at the stunning Chateau Be-Sche'. Megan looked amazing as ever in an absolutely breath-taking beaded gown. The reception was super fun as Calen aka Cata dropped a few beats and gave the entire reception a time we will certainly never forget! Find him on facebook to hear the fabulous songs we were all treated too. Congratulations, you two and thank you for the amazing weekend!

take me out to the ball game.

For most newly 21ers the morning after the big bang is usually spent in bed, recovering. However, I am a rockstar and chose to spend the next morning cheering on my favorite sports team; The Minnesota Twins! A bunch of friends and I took the bus down to Target Field and cheered our beloved Minnesota Twins onto victory! Sitting in front of us at the game was a man who just moved back to Minneapolis from New Zealand! It was so much fun to chat with him about his trip  and share New Zealand travels. Surprisingly, The Twins won! What a fantastic way to start off being twenty-one! :)

Twenty-One Candles.

It's my birthday!! My twenty-first to be exact! The day that almost everyone dreams about, the first time  we're able to drink (legally). ;) My big day started with lunch and drinks with my two best friends at a little local restaurant near campus. As the afternoon progressed so did the socializing and life loving. I had the very best time with all of my friends! I can't wait to see how the twenty-first year of my life plays out and what exactly the year has in store for me!

Birthday Binging Begins.

Because Minnesota has these wonderful laws that prohibit drinking the first few hours of your birthday, the girls and I decided to head east to the glorious state of Wisconsin, so, that I was able to get at least 2 hours of binging in the minute I turned twenty-one. We went to the town of Hudson and found some local bars to begin the celebrations. I had a blast the entire night, meeting some locals and receiving free drinks all night long. We're considering turning Hudson into a weekly occurrence because of all the random fun we were had. Can't wait to continue the birthday celebrations. Cheers!

Kato Reunion.

This weekend I needed to head home to reground and re-center myself. Adjustment being back in the states is an interesting one. I thought I would be able to just jump back into everything however, that was not the case for me. Not only did I come back a changed person but everyone else back home was growing and changing the entire time I was gone as well. We did not necessarily grow apart but rather it’s just ‘different’. Anyway, Ashley and I headed to Mankato to make some quick cash picking up a few extra hours at River Bend and also for me to visit and see all my Mankato friends. It was wonderful to see all these fine folks again.

Swimming With The Fishies.

The weather here in Minnesota has been extremely hot and humid. Not fun. I headed home to Wells for the day with my friend, Ashley, to see my Dad’s side of the family. Ash and I decided to take my nephew, Carson, and niece, Madison, swimming at the public pool. I had no idea they were already such great swimmers! It felt amazing to be at home with the little ones. I’m hoping my summer schedule will allow for some more Auntie Britt bonding time with the little ones! :) After the pool, Dad grilled out for all of us and we had a little New Zealand/America catch up time before Ash and I hit the highway back to the cities.

Adventures Through New Zealand.

As some or most of you may know, I recently have returned from a 4 month study abroad term in the beautiful country of New Zealand. During this time I learned a lot and saw some pretty amazing things. I kept a daily blog for my family and friends back home, as well as a journal for my personal reflections.
